The Real Work: The Transformation Beyond the Surface

The Real Work: The Transformation Beyond the Surface

Not all transformations are visible to others, right? When I released over one hundred pounds in less than a year, I became an instant “poster child” for the MLM company I was aligned with at the time. But while the physical transformation was clear for everyone to see, the real journey – the internal shifts that were happening within me – were far more significant and lasting.

When I began the journey to better understand myself, my beliefs, and why I had become the person I was, I was met with real resistance. “Oh, you’re one of those…” comments started to surface. The deeper I went into finding my truth, the harsher the comments became, especially during the “C era.” At that time, I thought I was doing the world a favor by sharing what I had learned about the quantum field, the law of attraction, energy work, and the ability to heal ourselves of absolutely anything, only to realize that this was a very personal journey that only aligns with those who are seeking it. So, I continued walking my path with those who were also seeking it.

Hard Work on a Lonely Road
It can be a lonely road, but something in me wouldn’t quiet down. I stopped blaming and complaining as much. I couldn’t ignore the energetic pull that there was more to life than I had been shown. The more I dug, the more I realized the true transformation I was looking for wasn’t about physical changes people could see; it was feeling into what I wanted for my life while stepping into my powers of creating, allowing, and receiving it.

It became about the inner work, becoming so conscious of my thought patterns that I could no longer remain unconscious to the very thoughts keeping me in my perception of being stuck. Stuck is merely an illusion created by the mind; in truth, we as energy are always moving, and therefore, we cannot ever be stuck. Conscious thoughts urged me to move my body after sitting at the computer for hours, something I would typically ignore, but now chose to listen to and act on. Another moment caught a judgmental thought midsentence. I was able to stop it, recognize the pattern, and let it go, replacing it with a different, more empowering thought for them and for me. What remained was a feeling of inner peace so compelling that I could feel my heart swell with connection.

Transformation is not just in the sacred journeys, the meditations, and the powerful retreats. Believe me, I know how incredible the collective energy feels when harnessed in a group; it’s simply euphoric. But those moments fade as quickly as they come because they are the conscious collective energy coming together, not your energy learning to connect itself to the collective energy.

The magic is in the messiness of the little moments of your everyday life. What are you thinking when someone cuts you off in traffic? What’s your reaction when things don’t go your way? How personally do you take gossip if it’s about you? How do you feel about the neighbor who doesn’t cut the lawn in a timely fashion? About your coworker who has differing political views? What about someone who chooses to express themselves through piercings and body art? Your response to these events is your opportunity to either create or release stress and negativity from your life in those moments.

The choice really is yours.

The Real Work of Conscious Awareness
That is the real work of conscious awareness. It’s not about not having the thoughts, it’s about how long you will entertain the thoughts you are having – those thoughts that create space for stress, anxiety, and those negative feelings you neither need nor want to have space in your life.

From this space of realization, you can create new thoughts that deepen your connection to your feelings and empower you to take aligned action toward what you truly desire, not what you are being shown. The more you practice this, the easier it becomes to catch and shift your thoughts, embracing your role as the conscious creator of your reality.

This transformation has also given me the ability to hold more space for those who may differ from me. It doesn’t mean I don’t get triggered at times, but I’ve noticed that my reaction time to noticing is getting faster. I no longer feel the need to block or separate myself from others. Instead, I can see them in their wholeness, wherever they are on their journey. I remind myself that I, too, once stood where they’re standing. Just because someone behaves a certain way today doesn’t mean they aren’t in the midst of their own transformation.

I am now at peace with allowing others to be as they are, in whatever form that takes. Their journey is not my responsibility, nor do I want to focus my energy on what does not serve me. While I hold space for them, my mission is to stay in my own alignment as often as possible while sharing my wisdom with those who are seeking remembrance and alignment for themselves.

We should never discount the smallest changes within us because those changes can often be the most profound. Transformation is always happening, both seen and unseen. Whether we realize it in the moment or not, trust the process. Take the “leap of faith” and trust the energy you’re moving toward. Allow yourself to be fully present for the changes, even the most uncomfortable of truths, you must face as they unfold in your life. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.

Every time we align with the person we want to become, we move closer to the person we’re meant to be. So here’s to trusting the journey and embracing the beauty of your transformation, no matter how big or small. And continue to say out loud, if you please, “Show me how incredible my life can be.” Because when you’re conscious of it, it always is.
