Effective Relief from Stress, Anxiety and PTSD: Hypnosis & Thought Field Therapy

Diane Bahr-Groth, CH, TFT-Adv

In today’s fast paced and often frightening, chaotic world we may find ourselves, or our loved ones, filled with stress, fear and anxiety. But there is hope. Hypnosis and Thought Field Therapy™ (TFT) are natural and effective ways to reduce the severity of negative thoughts and feelings related to anxiety and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Together, these stress-reducing techniques can create almost instantaneous life-changing experiences and result in feelings of deep peace and relaxation.

It is completely natural for one to feel anxious, sad, fearful, and even detached after a traumatic event. However, if negative thoughts, feelings and emotions linger and you continually experience a sense of fear and helplessness, or feel haunted by upsetting memories, you may be suffering from PTSD.

The High Cost of Suffering

If you are unable to release or heal the emotions related to the trauma, you may experience feelings of increased anxiety, fear, guilt, sadness, vulnerability, a lack of worthiness, shame, anger and even panic attacks. Limiting decisions or limiting beliefs may develop, causing a loss of interest in life, distrust, and avoidance of things that may remind you of the event. Sleeplessness, hopelessness, numbness, lack of appetite or perhaps self-sabotaging responses may develop, such as emotional eating, gambling or another addictive behavior. Traumatic events can be the root cause of illness, anxiety, depression, and pain.

Thought Field Therapy Can Reduce Negative Thoughts in Minutes

TFT is one of the most powerful, dramatic, rapid, and effective therapies ever developed. TFT is a natural and distinctive protocol of healing that works with the body’s energy system. Its unique therapeutic process can elicit immediate, lasting and unparalleled results for those tormented by a wide variety of problems such as fears, phobias, anxiety, stress and PTSD, often within minutes.

Dr. Roger Callahan, a noted clinical psychologist, began exploring alternative therapies in the early 1980s, searching for a faster and better way to help those suffering from emotional distress. After years of research he developed TFT, a simple and easy protocol that has a remarkably high rate of effectiveness.

The use and discovery of the TFT system has been at the forefront of the new field of energy psychology and brief therapy. It’s a powerful system that integrates the sciences of acupuncture, the meridian system and applied kinesiology with the associated emotional problem to successfully access the root cause of the issue and eliminate negative and often debilitating emotional and physical responses. While stimulating specific meridian points in a precise order and thinking about the upsetting issue, one utilizes the power of the body’s own energy system to release the unwanted negative response. TFT techniques can alleviate emotional, spiritual and even physical distress with profound and measurable results.

PTSD often is associated with the traumas of war-scarred veterans and first responders such as police, fire, and medical teams but it also can be caused by any shocking or overwhelming event either witnessed or experienced.  PTSD can be caused by any trauma such as unexpected loss, accidents, natural disasters, war, physical violence, emotional or sexual abuse, or terrorist attacks. Those experiences can result in flashbacks, nightmares and anxiety. As they say, “time heals all wounds,” but if one is unable to move forward with life and begin to feel better as time passes perhaps those symptoms are PTSD.

Thought Field PTSD Studies Help People Around the World

The TFT Foundation has provided free trauma-relief missions and conducted PTSD studies around the world, from Africa and Kosovo following wars and genocide, to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, and in Haiti after their earthquake. They have completed four studies demonstrating the effectiveness. Thousands of disaster sufferers and victims of war have been helped using the TFT technique. The TFT outcomes are recognized in the International Journal of Emergency Mental Health in recent Rwandan genocide recovery studies. I have personally helped hundreds upon hundreds of people become free of their past emotional and physical traumas. After the World Trade Center 9/11 tragedy my group was able to help more than 120 people in New York City, as well as some of our very brave emergency first responders, experience immediate relief from the traumas of the attack.

Statistically significant results were obtained with all problems and symptoms treated with TFT in a 1999 study at Kaiser Behavioral Health Services. These problems included anxiety, depression, alcohol abuse, anger, and anxiety due to medical condition, bereavement, and chronic pain, along with others.

Therapeutic Hypnosis Naturally Reduces Stress

It is a well-established fact that Hypnotherapy, also known as Therapeutic Hypnosis, can be an effective tool for everything from behavior modification to success and motivation, healing, PTSD, and even pain control. Many other problems, such as stress, fears, anxiety, phobias, pain, insomnia, poor study, memory and learning habits, self-esteem  issues, weight loss, and smoking cessation are commonly helped through the use of hypnosis.

Hypnosis is widely recognized by   the American Medical Association and researchers as a safe, natural and  enjoyable state of deep physical and emotional relaxation. The ethical use of  hypnosis is seen in a variety of fields, including medicine, dentistry, law   enforcement, professional sports, self-improvement, behavioral modification, and   education, and can improve a wide spectrum of conditions, challenges and   issues. It can alleviate negative thoughts, feelings and beliefs and  eliminate emotional and psychological blockages that prevent one from   accomplishing personal goals.

Hypnosis is not sleep, it’s simply a natural, calm and tranquil state of conscious awareness. During a hypnosis session a trained hypnotist uses specific suggestions to guide you into a  comfortable state of deep relaxation. Traditionally, while in this peaceful   state, you become more focused and actually have a heightened sense of   awareness, and the natural endorphin and serotonin levels of the body are   increased.

Hypnosis has proven to be an effective, safe and inexpensive method to create desired physical and emotional change, positive results, and implement self-healing where  traditional medicine has often failed. Hypnosis can naturally help you  overcome the mental or emotional obstacles that keep you from living life to  its fullest, empowering you to accomplish your goals.

Western medicine is only now beginning to understand that health and illness are related to our emotional state of inner harmony and balance. Simply stated, wellness is directly connected to our thought fields, i.e., our automatic thoughts and responses to life. Releasing negative thoughts and emotions with TFT and using Therapeutic Hypnosis can unlock the power of the body and mind, helping you to feel happier and healthier and to once again discover the natural joy of life.
