A New Treatment for Libido & Sexual Dysfunction

A New Treatment for Libido & Sexual Dysfunction

The peptide PT 141 has been shown to have a substantial effect on libido, generating sexual arousal in both men and women. It can work as an alternative to Viagra for erectile dysfunction in men. This peptide is able to cross the “blood-brain-barrier,” bypassing the vascular system and acting at the level of the central nervous system. This property gives PT-141 an advantage over traditional ED drugs like Viagra and Cialis, which can decrease blood pressure and cause side effects.

A placebo controlled medical study reported the following; among women who attempted sexual intercourse within 24 hours after treatment, significantly more were satisfied with their level of sexual arousal following PT-141, compared with placebo. The effects may be felt up to 12 hours from the time of administration and have been known to last for up to 3 days, diminishing each day. PT- 141 has been shown to have significant results on male test patients, with what is described as “intense” and “frequent” erections lasting between 2-6 hours. For women, PT-141 has been shown to be effective in treating sexual dysfunction and sexual arousal disorder in women.

Peptides can enhance the natural production of growth hormone. Human growth hormone (HGH) levels naturally decline with age. Along with the many other effects of aging, a relative deficiency of growth hormone contributes to a decline in sexual desire and function. There have been many studies which document human growth hormones’ decline with aging, and the numerous consequences of that decline.

Low HGH levels also inhibit the pleasure associated with sexual activity, making it more problematic to achieve orgasm, and causing the resulting physical satisfaction to be lackluster. In females, HGH promotes lubrication, making the vagina ready for sex. The enhanced blood flow promoted by healthy growth hormone levels makes the clitoris and the vagina significantly more sensitive, increasing the pleasure and increasing the likelihood of satisfaction. In men, growth hormone deficiency will contribute to erectile dysfunction.

Two peptides commonly used to enhance the natural production of growth hormone are tesamorelin, and the combination peptide called CJC/Ipamorelin. Tesamorelin is one of the most studied and well documented peptides in terms of its effectiveness. It is FDA approved for a medical indication of “lipodystrophy,” characterized by abnormal fat accumulation. For everyone else, Tesamorelin can be obtained from a compounding pharmacy for its many benefits. A Harvard study showed that along with its ability to enhance the loss of body fat and increase muscle mass in response to diet and exercise, it was shown to reduce “visceral fat,” the fat around the abdominal organs which increases the risk of heart disease. It also enhanced cognitive ability in study subjects over 60 years of age.

Melatonin is a peptide which has as its primary action an enhancement of the tanning of the skin by its ability to promote the production of the hormone melanin which is responsible for pigmentation of the skin. Melatonin has been shown to have libido enhancing effects. Having these effects, it has been used along with a growth hormone enhancing peptide, which enhances weight loss while at the same time having an additional cosmetic and anti-aging effect. These peptides are generally used 5-6 days per week administered in the evening as growth hormone is naturally released each evening while we sleep.

The actress Suzanne Somers has had a long career as an author, writing a number of books promoting the use of natural treatments for their Anti-Aging benefits. Now she is on a book tour to promote her new book called, “A New Way To Age.” In this new book, she touts the use of the peptide PT-141 by her husband and herself, contributing to their maintaining an active sex life well into their seventies.

Many peptides have been shown to be safe and effective, helping many different health concerns as well as optimizing function. New ones are being studied and developed all the time, and it appears that the recognition and acceptance of peptides for better health is growing and expected to be recommended more widely in the years to come.
